Marlene Chism is the author of the Builders Series booklets. Marlene has a master's degree in Human Resources Development and has worked with companies across the country. Marlene formed ICARE, which stands for "Improving Communication and Relationships Everywhere."

After years of research about the effect of relationships on the bottom line, Marlene founded  www.stopyourdrama.com,  and www.attitudebuilders.com. offering tools, training and resources for HR professionals, training directors and managers.  The outcome is less drama, higher productivity and performance through teams.

ICARE Products, (the booklet division) was born in 2003 when Marlene introduced the Builders Series booklets, which have many uses for both training and marketing, and have been purchased by companies like NASA, McDonalds and Detroit Free Press.  

Character Builders evolved in 2005 when Marlene developed a booklet to complement the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce initiative to build a community of character.

After introducing Character Builders to Character First! Marlene was invited to speak at the International Cities of Character Conference in Oklahoma and soon after,  joined a collaborative effort with Character First! an international organization dedicated to providing resources to communities interested in promoting character. 

The Character Builder booklets act as a vehicle to raise funds, promote character and provide character education for businesses.
